TK Maxx AW11 press day

6 Oct

Every fashionista has her secrets, whether it’s being on a first
name basis with sales assistants at your favourite boutique or having the 411
on the latest sample sales. It’s a bit of hard work though, isn’t it? As much
as I love spending a ridiculous about of time in Selfridges, I don’t think
anyone there actually knows my name. Sample sales sound great in theory – I mean
who wouldn’t love an Erdem skirt for £100 – but you need sharp elbows and eyes
like a hawk to get anything decent. As much as I love a bargain, I need my
shopping to be a little calmer and more organised. That’s why my little
shopping secret is TK Maxx. I know the common misconception is that it’s old
season stock and stores look like a jumble sale but that couldn’t be further
from the truth. The majority of stock is current season while a small
percentage is past season and the shops are well laid out. Larger stores have a
Gold Label section, which features the likes of Stella, Versace and Marni with
up to 60% off.
The fashion focus of TK Maxx was very much evident at their
autumn/winter 2011 press day. The key trends you can expect in store include Country
Heritage, Seventies and Jewel Colours, showing that the buyers definitely have
their finger on the fashion pulse. The preview of their Christmas range really
blew me away. Think Moschino, Giambattista Valli and lots of faux fur. My top
tip is to check out the store on Charing Cross Road, it’s big, very boutique-y
and has an awesome Gold Label section.

The press day:

TK Maxx, Dancers, Chloe bags & Hunter wellies

3 Aug

Did you guys know that an uber conveniently located TK Maxx has opened in central London? I was there at the opening of the store on Charing Cross road, which is literally a hop and a skip away from Tottenham Court Road station. See, told you it was convenient! The opening was so much fun, there were lots of delish nibbles, themed dancers and oh course lots of bargains to be had. I bumped into lots of my favourite bloggers including Jenny of The Style PA, Tor of Fab Frocks, Kristabel of I Want You To Know and Fiona of Save Our Shoes

Kristabel and I were keen for some bargain hunting. The bag section was our chosen hunting ground and we were in heaven – Balenciaga, Chloe, Jil Sander and Marc Jacobs all under £500.

There were also lots of hair products and sunglasses.

Our bargain of the night were Hunter wellies, just £30! I’ll definitely be popping back for some!

TK Maxx also have a fashion forward collection which drops in store every couple of weeks or so. Here’s a behind the scenes video of the shoot:

Thank you to Lily and the guys at TK Maxx for such a lovely evening.
