Fangs for the necklace

25 Oct

It’s Halloween soon!! I know it’s not supposed to be that big in England but I love Halloween. With the weather as cold as it’s been, I think it’s good to find something to look forward to! I’m a huge horror movie fan so I usually stay in watching some old school horror but this year I’ve got a couple of Halloween parties to go to. I’ve been thinking about what to go as for a while on and off, as much as I would love to create an amazing outfit I’m afraid I don’t have the time so I need to go for the easy option and buy something. I’d love to go as Freddie Kruger or a zombie cheerleader but lack the necessary make up skills to pull off the looks so I was left with three pretty easy options: Hit Girl from Kickass, Rihanna in the new video for Only Girl (hello gorgeous tutu dress!) or a vampire.

The latter may sound like the dullest option, but not to a True Blood obsessive like me! Those of you who also love True Blood will know that Pam is the most prevalent female vampire, as Eric’s right hand woman. Her style veers from all-American, preppy waspy mother to putting the vamp in vampire. Unsurprisingly, I prefer the latter for a Halloween get up.

Ever the jewellery lover, I’ve been searching for the perfect accessories, and discovered there are many, many Halloween suitable, True Blood inspired frankly gorgeous fang necklaces about. Here are my favourites, I think I’ll go for the Mafia one though even though they’re wisdom teeth rather than fangs. I think that just makes it a little creepier, muhahaha!

London Fashion Week – Spijkers en Spijkers Spring/Summer 2011

27 Sep

Guest post by Fiona of Save our Shoes

“Where the wild roses grow” collection is a feast for the floral print senses.  Not only is the collection absolutely gorgeous, it is so appropriate for summer antics.  Spijkers en Spijkers looks for next season are wearable and make me want to move to the Netherlands where I can cycle everywhere in my chic tailored suit and buttoned up blouse.

The collection was inspired by Nick Cave and Kylie Minogues classic hit “Where the wild roses grow”.  Floral prints are a staple in my wardrobe, so if someone was willing to hook me up with these ditsy floral shorts next May, I shall not complain.

It was a gorgeous show and I can’t wait to look at them on Supersweet.org and dream about mustard coloured shift dresses, veggie hotdogs with mustard and lazy summer days.  Surrounded by wild roses.

Sophie Hulme – Bows and brass

13 Sep

London-based designer Sophie Hulme has an acclaimed womenswear collection, which is known for it’s masculine and military influenes. As gorgeous as her clothing is, I much prefer the accessories. Featuring bows, brass and little trinkets, each piece is utterly unique. Unsurprisingly, she has been named as one of London’s brightest talents by the Telegraph and has been featured in magazines including Elle, iD and Dazed & Confused.

Available at Supersweet Showroom.

New season Opening Ceremony!

29 Jul

New Opening Ceremony!! These shoes just landed in my inbox and I just had to share. Some of the shoes are more transitional, but they all have a pretty wintery feel to them – but in a good way. I love Winter because it’s all about the textures and this little collection has got bundles of texture – wooly mohairs, soft furs, sumptuous suede and a nice smattering of embellishment. The mohair wedges and the faux-sock shoes are my absolute favourites.

All available now at Super Sweet Shop, except the faux-socks which drop in September.
