Push PR Christmas in July press day 2011

4 Aug
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas….well no actually it’s not it’s pretty damn sunny outside in London. Nevertheless, the Christmas in July press days are all done and dusted and I have to admit, I’m a teeny tiny bit excited about all the gorgeous bits and pieces coming up. The first Christmas in July press day I went to was at Push PR. It was held at the beautiful Soho Hotel which is one of my favourite venues, a good time is always had. The super thing about Push PR’s press day is that they represent some really cool brands and all the usual suspects were there, from Regal Rose and Holistic Silk to Eastern Mystic, Gigi Vintage, Ruxx and LSA International. My favourites were the Tara Starlet nightwear and cashmere hot water bottles for pampered princesses, anything from LSA International for domestic goddesses and jewels from Eastern Mystic and Alice Menter for those with a magpie eye.

Push PR Autumn/Winter 2011 press day

21 Jun

Push PR are one of my favourite PR firms, not least because they represent some very cool and quirky little brands. At the Autumn/Winter 2011 press day, I caught up with some of my favourite brands and also discovered some new ones, namely gorgeous goods at Gigi Vintage and Jasper Garvida’s luscious bridal collection.

Vintage Dior and YSL sunglasses at Gigi Vintage

Jasper Garvida‘s bridal collection. Stunning from afar but absolutely beautiful close up, the amount of work that has gone into each piece is staggering.

EC One have got some beautiful, elegant and very simple jewellery for next season.

Eastern Mystic have some beautiful spike jewellery. Obviously, I loved these. The bracelets are made out of pretty stones but the sharp spikes really toughen them up/

Regal Rose are newly represented by Push PR and I instantly fell in love. The pieces are very distinctive and have a slightly Gothic edge, they would pretty much feel at home in my jewellery box. I spent a lot of time playing with the knuckle duster rings, but ultimately the full finger ring was my favourite piece, just. The price points are relatively low too which is great because you won’t want to stop at just one or two pieces. Want. It. All.

Style it up: 18 and East jersey dress

8 Jun
This super cute jersey dress was sent to me by the lovely ladies from Push PR as part of a “style it up” challenge. But I genuinely love this dress, it’s become my new go-to piece for dressing up, dressing down and everything in between. Jersey is such an easy to wear fabric, 18 and East fully appreciated this by making this dress loose and slouchy, but adding an elasticated belt for a little waist-cinching action. I love the blurred print and longer length at the back too. At a mere £25, it’s such a style steal.

It’s such a versatile piece that I decided to show it dressed up and down with minimal accessories for the challenge. For my casual look, I’ve just paired it with some flat, studded ankle boots from Primark, I’ve also worn it with pumps though and it looks very nonchalant, oh-this-I-just-threw-it-on. I dressed it up with my House of Holland suspender tights and black Carvela wedges. The length of the dress is perfect for these tights, as you only catch a little glimpse of the suspender detail. I’m also going to experiment with brights too, as the muted colours of the dress would make the perfect base for some really bright pops of colour.

Apologies for the lighting in the images, I was hoping to get out and about to take advantage of the sunshine in London but never have time to snap pics on the move.

Covting bad-ass Joomi Lim jewels

7 Dec

Last month, I attended the Push PR press day and saw what lots of independent brands have in store for us next season. One brand that caught my eye was Joomi Lim, the dangerous looking spike jewellery was right up my street. Although the name may not be familiar, I’m sure you will have seen some of Joomi’s work – she started out designing headbands and hair pieces and some were seen on none other than Blair Waldorf! This is Joomi’s first jewellery line and I loved the contrast between prim and proper pearls and bad-ass spikes. These striking pieces are just crying to be worn out with a gorgeous gown, battered biker boots and a ton of attitude.
The collection is available at NYLA Boutique and my stand-out pieces include the mace earrings, studded cuff and bracelet and . Santa, if you’re reading, I’d love to discover one of these bad boys in my stocking. I’ve been good this year, I promise!

Push PR SS11 press day

6 Nov

I’m sure you guys must know about Push PR by now, I only wrote about their Christmas press day last month. They have a great portfolio of small, independent brands such as Kandee shoes, Jasper Garvida, Upper Street, Nyla and Eastern Mystic so of course I wanted a sneak peek into what they had in store for us for next season. Here are my favourite pieces and things that have shot to the top of my lust list:

Joomi Lim at Nyla Boutique

These gorgeous, badass studded pieces by new jewellery brand Joomi Lim caught my eye straight away. I loved the studded bracelets and also the pearl and stud necklaces for the contrast between prim pearls and kickass studs. These pieces will be available via Nyla, which is a new online boutique specialising in eclectic brands from New York and LA…hence Nyla!

Upper Street

Upper Street was founded by sisters who basically got tired of trying to find the perfect shoe. Who hasn’t been there?! They wanted to bring their own shoe designs to life, and Upper Street was born. It’s not just an outlet for their own designs, anyone can log on and create their own beautiful, handmade shoes. They also collaborated with Jasper Garvida to create some stunning snakeskin gladiator sandals. They’re on the far right-hand side, samples of Upper Street designs are displayed.

Kandee shoes

I’m a big Kandee fan. It’s quite amazing to think that the founder of the company is just 21 years old, I think Kandee shoes are really coming into their own and carving out a niche in the market. If anyone wants to get me the red sparkly pair, I’d love you forever!

EC One

EC One is a jewellery boutique which started in Exmouth Market, hence the name. They have since opened a second boutique in Notting Hill and count the likes of Alexis Bittar and Alex Monroe among the brands stocked at this super little independent jewellery store.

Jasper Garvida

I’m a pretty big Jasper fan, I covered his Spring/Summer 2011 collection in this post, so I won’t write too much about it here. I took lots of detailed pictures to show the quality of the fabrics and those amazing gold disc sequins.

Push PR Christmas press day

11 Oct

I’m assuming you’re sitting down. That’s a good thing. Ok, there are only 75 days left til Christmas 2010. I know Halloween hasn’t even happened yet, but you can never start preparing too early. I’ve been caught out in a mad rush on Christmas Eve one too many times, learn from my mistakes kids! The lovely folks at Push PR invited me to their Christmas press day on Tuesday. Thankfully it was a very subtle Christmas soiree, yummy mini mince pies were the only giveaway thankfully, I don’t think I could stomach Christmas trees and tinsel just yet. Push PR represent lots of gorgeous brands including Upper Street, Holistic Silk and one of my favourite London designers Jasper Garvida.  I saw a lovely selection of products available, including:

Jewellery by Vanya – Beautiful and dainty vintage inspired jewellery. I loved the swallows, letter/envelope and cameo details. Perfect for girly little sisters or friends.

Eastern Mystic – At the other end of the jewellery spectrum, big and bold statement jewellery. I loved the blues and golds. A girl who loves a bit of luxe would love one of these necklaces.

Gilda & Pearl – This is the prettiest, most sumptuous lingerie I’ve seen in a long time. It’s grown up and luxurious. Great for beautiful best friends.

Holistic Silk – Following on from the luxe theme, Holistic Silk have got the perfect gifts for women who have everything. Silk lavender infused eyemasks and silk slippers are so luxe, not to mention the Rolls Royce of yoga mats. The silk and lined mats are so gorgeous they almost made me want to take up yoga, and I hate physical exercise!

Jasper Garvida & Kandee shoes – I love both these brands. I’ve seen Jasper’s Autumn/Winter 2010 tons of times and I still love the panelling and details such as the oversize zips. I wrote about Kandee shoes very recently, the sky blue studded shoes were by far my favourite. I had a sneak peek at the metallic studded version which were amazing! These would be perfect for any fashion darling.
