The red leather trousers.

14 Dec
You’ve already seen these utterly fantastic red leather trousers in my previous post on Tramp Vintage. I fell for them hard and the super generous ladies at Tramp sent them to me! Forget making my day, they made my week. As the gorgeous cherry colour is so bright, I decided to keep it simple and wear my faithful Georgia Rose stilettos from Sarenza and a plain black vest top from Zara which really allows the leather trousers to become the focal point of the outfit. Not that there’s any danger of them fading to the background, colour aside the great cut, folder over cuffs, tie up back and super nipped in scallop waist make sure all eyes are on them. I think I’ll go for a more high octane look next time though, my sheer cobalt blue shirt is crying out for a playdate with them. Would you wear cherry red trousers?

Dressing up at Tramp Vintage

4 Dec

Last week, I posted about my trip to Brighton to check out the beautiful Tramp Vintage boutique. While I was there, the lovely Francesca and I had a little impromptu dressing up session – there were so many gorgeous pieces I wouldn’t leave without trying a couple half the shop on. What’s your favourite piece?

These red leather trousers are such a statement piece. The scarlet red colour is so vibrant, the leather is baby soft and the high waist really pulls you in at the waist to give a really feminine silhouette. I literally did not want to take these off!

I loved this faux fur trench coat, it’s a really different cut for a faux fur which tend to be a little looser and shapeless. The leather details on the cuffs were the perfect finishing touches.

I have to be honest, I wasn’t 100% sure about this cute little dress but I think it looks lovely on. It fit like a glove and it the colour and pattern look fab, much better than when it’s on the hanger.

This sweet little velvet dress was a bit of a favourite over on my Facebook page. It’s shape and fabric are so on trend for this season, I would much rather have an original piece rather than a replica churned out for one of the high street retailers, especially as this dress was in such good condition.

The last two dresses were real showstoppers. Francesca asked me to choose my favourite to try on but it would be cruel to choose, wouldn’t it?

18 and East "Style It Your Way" Challenge

28 Nov
The lovely guys at one of my favourite high street haunts – 18 and East – recently asked me to take part in their “Style It Your Way” challenge. All I had to do was pick a piece and style it my way. Simple, non? Well no actually, I discovered the hardest part of the challenge was actually picking one piece, their AW11 collection has some really great pieces, I love the bright teal and coral pieces which are perfect for injecting some colour into your autumnal wardrobe and the cute prints are super fun.

I almost went for a lovely star printed skirt but chose this oversize waterprint chiffon shirt. The voluminous box shape just looked so easy to wear and the blurry, blotchy colours are so unique. I wore the shirt with black skinny jeans from J.Brand and brogue wedges from Bertie. The shirt is so versatile though, I’m looking forward to wearing it dressed down with studded biker boots, layered over dresses, basically with everything! How would you style up this shirt?

Review: AX Paris zebra knit dress

21 Nov

You may not have heard of AX Paris, but you’ve definitely seen their collection. Available online as well as at New look, the celebrity favourite label counts the likes of Lauren Pope, Maria Fowler, The Saturdays and Kelly Brook as fans, they’re are always seen out and about with their latest must-have piece. Although AX Paris are most well known for their gorgeous party dresses, they also have a really great collection which offers everything from snuggly knits, cute playsuits and cosy coats.

When they recently asked me to pick a piece to review, I went for something casual and picked this abstract zebra print knitted dress. I adore animal print but leopard print and snakeskin are a little too obvious this season so the zebra print really appealed to me. I was really pleased when I received the jumper, I was really pleased by how soft and snuggly it was. I love the high street, but sometimes the quality of fabrics can be really touch and go, there’s nothing I hate more than seeing a really gorgeous piece only to find out the wool or cotton is scratchy. Although it was long enough to wear as a dress, I prefered to wear it slouchy and pulled it up a little. I adore this jumper and have worn it to death, it’s so versatile and comfy. I wore it casually with leggings and hiker boots and also dressed it up with my favourite red jeans and stilettos. Which look do you prefer?

The mammouth ‘what I wore to fashion week’ post

4 Oct

I know this post is slightly delayed but I always think that writing up the shows and being a responsible blogger comes above ‘what I wore’ posts. This year, I wasn’t overly excited about dressing up for London Fashion Week, it’s my fifth season so the novelty and excitement has worn off slightly but it is kind of essential to make an effort. Lots of people do dress up and walking around the courtyard can be so inspiring, but personally, my main MO has been comfort and championing my beloved high street. For me, London’s differentiator is the quality and range of our high street so I always make a point of repping my favourite stores.

The lovely guys at Motel Rocks were kind enough to gift me the black lace Cilla dress which I wore for day one. The lace trend has been around for a while but this sheer, delicate tattoo lace is really striking; especially over the nude slip. It’s a classic skater shape with long sheer sleeves and a low back for some added interest. I continued the nude trend with my semi-sheer tights from New Look. I always rely on New Look for quirky tights and this pair is one of my favourites. The wedged brogues are from Bertie and they are super comfy, the wedge and the platform make them kind to my feet. The perfect shoes for rushing around on the cobbles with.

Is wearing all black a bit of a fashion cliché? The oversize tshirt cape from 18 & East was actually perfect for LFW, the voluminous shape worked double time to keep me cool during the day but warm when it got chillier in the evening. Personally, I’m a little over dip-dyed hair but the black/grey dip-dye fringing added a little bit of an edge to the cape, not to mention it looked amazing when I walked! I balanced out the volume on top with super skinny jeans from J.Brand and my favourite black wedges from Carvela. The crucifix necklace is one of my favourite pieces of jewellery, I found the actual crucifix in a market in Barcelona and asked super talented jewellery designer and stylist Frankie Murray of Swell Vintage to put it on a chain for me.

Do not adjust your monitor, your eyes are not deceiving you…I am indeed wearing flats. This is the most casual I’ve been at LFW, I needed a really low key way. The fabulous ankle boots are from Sarenza, my feet deserved a one day haitus from the heels. I love these boots and pretty much lived in them for a week after LFW was over. The jumper is such a lovely colour and an absolute bargain from Boohoo. I hadn’t shopped there before but I was really impressed by the pieces they had on the site. I do love the colour but also the ladder detail at the waist and back. Being a super casual day, I wore the jumper with some Levis cut offs but dressed up the outfit with this stunning necklace, courtesy of Eastern Mystic. Known for their statement pieces and tribal influences, the brand is regularly featured in the likes of Grazia, Cosmopolitan, The Telegraph fashion and Cosmopolitan Bride.

M&S style challenge the final outfit! Plus win £50 from M&S

14 Sep

Today is the last day of the M&S Limited Collection style challenge! The week has absolutely flown by. I saved my favourite piece for last. How gorgeous is this jumper?? I love the swallow print and the muted colour palette makes it really versatile. It’s cropped at the waist but I tucked it into my pumpkin orange pleated midi skirt for a bit of definition. The colour definitely perked up the outfit but without screaming ‘look at me’. The shoes are a favourite which I have literally worn to death, RIP beautiful polka dot peep toes! My housemate Bob the bunny got so intrigued with all the posing and flashes that he got involved in the mini-shoot, bless him.

Anywhoo, onto the competition! As you know, this has all been part of a competition to win a trip to Paris. At the moment, I hear I’m second which quite frankly isn’t good enough! M&S have kindly offered a £50 to one of the people who votes in the style challenge, so mosey on over to the M&S Facebook page, ‘like’ my pic and comment here to let me know you’ve voted. M&S style challenge outfit six

13 Sep

Almost the final day of my M&S Limited Collection challenge. Today I’ve chosen this lightweight charcoal grey top. It’s so effortless, the oversize fit, batwing detail and leather trim make it great for just throwing on over anything. Unfortunately, the dark grey colour was matching the weather this morning so I perked up my outfit with this pretty Moscow print skirt. How gorgeous is it?! The weather also called for opaques, but I wore my favourite ‘work’ shoes to brighten up my day, a pair of lovely buttersoft leather slingbacks from DKNY, courtesy of Sarenza.
If you like this outfit or just want to cheer me up with a trip to Paris, please ‘like’ my outfit on the M&S Facebook page. If you don’t, I’ll send some flying monkeys over to terrorise you, Wizard of Oz style. You have been warned. Vote! x
