Oasis Christmas sale picks

24 Dec
I remember a time when the pre-Christmas sales were actually the Boxing Day sales and Harrods even waited until January to start. For me, pre-Christmas sales are a little wrong so I don’t really partake and I still get up at the crack of dawn on Boxing Day, but now I tend to check out the sales online so I have a rough idea of what I’m going for. Oasis pieces are such great quality and the cut works for me so I tend to go for staple pieces like leather jackets, little black dresses and classic shapes but I also can’t resist trend pieces like bright lace, art deco embellishment and sherbet shades,

Boucle jumper – was £60, now £30.
Embellished scallop detail top – was £45 now £20.

Oasis Argyle Street launch party

8 Nov
Amy from Wolf Whistle

Hurrah, my favourite Oasis store has reopened! The Argyle Street store is nestled between Oxford Circus and Liberty, the location is a little under the radar and perfect for avoiding the usual onslaught of tourists. The store has been closed for months for a complete makeover and the lovely folks at Oasis invited me to their offices for a wee celebration and a little dressing up before checking out the new store which is just around the corner from their offices.

Daniela from Couture & Crumpets, me and Clara from Clazzerati

We also got a sneak peek of their new collections – 20:Twenty.The collection celebrates the 20 years since Oasis launched with 20 strictly limited edition pieces. The design team have delved into the archives and re-worked classic pieces in luxe fabrics with gorgeous detailing including embellished collars. My absolute favourite piece is an inky blue sheer silk blouse with an intricate beaded collar, which feels chic and minimalist but with a touch of luxury. I also loved the metallic tweed pieces too.

Oasis sale picks

14 Jun
The summer sales have officially started! A few retailers went into sale last week but the majority seem to be joining in the fun this week. Yesterday I checked out the Oasis sale and found lots of pretty items for my work wardrobe. Those who follow me on Twitter will know I’ve become a little obsessed with my work wardrobe – particularly searching for the perfect work shoe. I used to dress very smart for work (think City worker – pencil skirts and blouses) but my current workplace (anonymous fashion retailer) is a little more relaxed. I think it’s easy to fall into the trap of wearing lots of black because ‘it looks smart’ or dressing far too casual just because you can. In summer, black can look too heavy and dark and I’m starting to think it’s good to dress like I’m going to work rather than heading out with friends at the weekend!
The pieces I’ve picked from Oasis all have little details – a bit of embellishment here, a ruffle there – to keep them fun and feminine. I think my favourite piece is the bright blue sheer blouse. Sheer is such a huge trend this season, as are brights and colour blocking. I’d wear it with a little cami underneath to make it work-appropriate. The cami can be slipped off if you’re heading out for drinks after work and it will look equally good with some tailored trousers or a skirt. The swallow print tunic is also gorgeous, the shape makes it perfect for days you’re running around from meeting to meeting and it will look so cute with flats which is always a plus at work.

From top left:
Oasis safari chic blouse – was £40, now £25
Oasis wide leg crepe trousers – was £50, now £30
Oasis Grace 70s belted trouser – was £45, now £30
Oasis sheer sleeve embellished dress – was £130, now £40
Oasis boyfriend cardigan – was £40, now £20

There’s only one reason to start weaning yourself off the Christmas binge:New Year’s Eve. For most of London, this is the huge finale of the party season, the last hurrah before January detox and exercise begins. So of course, you need to spend most of New Year’s Eve pampering and prepping for the night’s festivities as well as a gorgeous little dress to shimmy into. Here are my top four dresses, perfect for whatever you might have planned, whether it’s partying the night away, sinking shots at the bar or a nice, civilised dinner.

Shoe obsession – multi buckle wedges

2 Jul

I have a slight obsession with wedges which have straps or buckles. Granted, they are pretty much in every store but I’ve found myself naturally gravitating towards them. They seem like the perfect hybrid between comfy flats and heels. They’re also increbily versatile, I’ve tried them on with skirts, harems and combats. Can you tell I’m smitten?? Here are my top 3 on the high-street:

Oasis multi buckle wedge sandals – £40 in the sale

ASOS Randal buckle wedge shoes – £25 in the sale

Topshop Anarchy multi buckle wedges – £80

My favourite non high-street version are these lust worthy Opening Ceremony wedges, aren’t they amazing?!
