Stripe-spiration

31 Mar
The last couple of weeks have been very Spring-like…hurray! I’ve officially ditched my winter coat in favour of a slightly lighter coat and even wore shorts (with tights) sans jacket on the weekend. As great as the lighter evening and sunshine are, I suddenly feel like I’m ill equipped to deal with the warmer weather. It’s not as simple as just taking a couple of layers off and wearing a lighter jacket, actual hot weather will require appropriate clothing.

One of my favourite Spring/Summer trends is thankfully one that you can count on every year – nautical stripes. Stripes are already all over the high-street  in various guises from traditional blue, ultra thin stripes, vertical and horizontal stripes. My favourite are the more block-y Prada inspired stripes like the Zara skirt in the centre. I also love the Topshop  night shorts which are just too cute to be confined to indoors, I’m planning on wearing them with wedges, slouchy tee and a maxi length cardi.

Top Five: High-street jumpsuits

13 Jul

I remember when jumpsuits and playsuits first filtered down onto the high-street, most people were scratching their heads, slightly apprehensive of the new fashion curve ball. Playsuits became the more popular, more wearable option; I’m not sure why, but the full jumpsuit seemed a little much for people. But now, I’m seeing their full potential. I feel like I’ve seen the light! They stand out as slightly quirky and distinctive in a sea of curb sweeping maxi, but just as elegantly chic. Here are my top five picks from the high-street, plus a bonus jumpsuit which I’ve been lusting after for ages!

Tyler tie-dye jumpsuit – Laden – £40

Digital Odyssey jumpsuit – ASOS – £40

Halter neck playsuit – Rare – £32

Multi print wide leg jumpsuit – Miss Selfridge – £45

Sinha Stanic silk floral jump suit – Sinha Stanic @ Oli – £40, was £100

Earlier on this week, I wrote about going to the fabulous launch party for the Laden Showroom website with Fiona from Save Our Shoes. I was so excited by the gorgeous goodies on the site that I didn’t post my outfit! This jacket is one of my favourites, my jackets are normally dark and boring so this shaggy faux fur jacket is slightly out of character.

We met up with the super sweet Winnie from Diamond Canopy before hitting the party for some amazingly huge pancakes from My Old Dutch. They’re absolutely deeeelish!

I absolutely adore everything that Fiona wears, the textures and colours are always amazing.

And that bag, don’t even get me started on how much I want it!
