Stunning supermodel and Fashion Daydreams favourite Anja Rubik has been unveiled as the new face of Kurt Geiger for Autumn/Winter 2011. Building on their heritage as a British brand, the campaign was shot on location in London and Anja is seen rocking Dalmation print ankle boots from the high end Kurt Geiger London collection. Creative Director Rebecca Farrar-Hockley commented, “I am thrilled to have Anja starring as the face of our AW11 campaign.  She personifies the spirit of the Kurt Geiger girl, effortlessly stylish with an edge of urban glamour.”

Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model launches

Last week saw the launch of the latest series of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model with super host and judge Elle Macpherson, who is joined by fellow judges Julien Macdonald, Grace Woodward and Calvin Klein star Charley Speed. One of the best thing about BINTM is acting as an unofficial judge from your sofa, there’s now an app on the Facebook page to predict the result of each show as the season goes on to make it a little more fun.

Tom Ford comes to London

Persistent rumours currently doing the rounds bring the news that Tom Ford is going to show during London Fashion Week! Exciting indeed, I think this would be great for LFW and entice more editors to take note and attend, unfortunately LFW is seen as the take-it-or-leave-it fashion week with many editors skipping the first few days or the entire event.

Shoe daydreams at Kurt Geiger

10 Mar

There’s nothing like a lazy day at home doing your nails, eating chocolate and gazing upon beauteous, wonderful shoes. Kurt Geiger is my favourite shoe store by far, I literally can’t leave without a big shoe bag swinging from my hand. The choice is a little overwhelming though and it just seems wrong to leave with just one pair, they will get lonely, no? I love the dark blacks and golds, they have a real timeless, vintage glamour. But….vibrant, dazzling attention-grabbing heels are just a little bit irresistible aren’t they?? What’s tickling your fancy this season, classic black or bold colours?

Hiking boots vs riding boots

1 Nov

Over the last week or so, I have really realised how unsuitable my shoe collection is for cold weather – long story but most of my boots have been ruined, compensation is an ongoing battle issue with my estate agents. Sometimes a girl just needs to make a wardrobe investments purely for warmth and comfort reasons…but that doesn’t mean said investment needs to be purely functional.

I’ve been debating between the slightly boring but classic riding boots and fashion’s new shoe du jour the hiking boot. Both imply outdoor pursuits which I really won’t be undertaking anytime soon. I love the classic nature of riding boots and most of them are knee length which means thick rugby socks can be worn undetected when temperatures really plummet. But on the other hand, hiking boots are pretty cosy too, especially the sheepskin lines ones. Both boots are very practical, though riding boots may be flat which is good for frost and ice, most hiking boots have a grippy sole and so combine a heel and practicality. I think I’m sold on that last point!

Are you going to be a riding boots or hiking boots kind of girl this season?
