London Fashion Week – Body AMR Spring/Summer 2011

20 Sep
Next on my schedule was Body AMR. I attended the show last season and was blown away, it was definitely one of my favourite shows of the season. Needless to say I arrived a little early in anticipation. Unfortunately, I was turned away as the first show was cancelled! It was put back an hour, no real explanation given and no email from the PR in my inbox. I almost missed my next show but it was well worth throwing my schedule out slightly.
The show was opened by Daisy Lowe who looked utterly stunning in a white dress. The collection had a definite Grecian feel, with draping and ruching aplenty. This was a very body conscious Grecian though, with the drapes either perfectly escapsulating the model’s figure or layered over a plain body-con basic. The collection also featured more flowy, sheer looks with gorgeous sheer sheaths in white and electric blue coupled with metalwork details like exposed zips.

The collection was very sensual, with plunging necklines and body-con dresses with cutaway shoulders. One of my favourite looks was heavily sequined/embellished shorts covered with swathes of sheer fabric, toning down the bling but creating something more subtle and beautiful. So far, so serene and civilised, right? Time for an interjection to shake things up then, courtesy of a super mix of Vogue by Madonna and Salt N Pepa’s Push it, some digital print dresses and a super hot Amber Rose! The show closed with some gorgeous sweeping white gowns with gold accents and cutaway Grecian gowns with embellishment underneath. I covet every single piece.
