Burberry Fall 08

27 Jun
I’m sure you have all heard that Agy had been dropped by Burberry in favour of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. It’s not the first time a model has got dropped, but according to tabloids, the girls have a full on rivalry, as Agyness has been snubbing Rosie since Christopher Bailey made his decision. don’t feel too bad for her though, Shiseido has dropped Angelina Jolie in favour of Agy. Anyway, here are the latest pictures of the Burberry fall ’08 campaign, also starring Sam Riley.

World’s apart from the previous rock-inspired campaign, but I like them. Moody and melancholic.

Chanel hits DSM

11 Jun

Dover Street Market is always a pretty special shopping space in London, more gallery/museum than store. The iconic DSM retail space is one of the most directional fashion and lifestyle stores, which is home to hard-to-come-by brands such as Pierre Hardy, Azzedine Alaia, Ganyru and of course Comme des Garcon.

The news that a temporary Chanel boutique will be set up in DSM has had fashion tongues wagging for months; after all Chanel is very precious about the distribution of their ready-to-wear, it’s only ever sold in Chanel boutiques and concessions. The boutique opened on 9th June and will occupy five floors until 25th June. It features limited edition pieces as well as iconic pieces from the Metiers d’Arts Paris-Londres Collection. The collection was established in 2002 following Chanel’s acquisition of 7 specialist Parisian ateliers.

The Chanel Paris-Londres Party was attended by Jasmine and Daphne Guiness, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Astrid Munoz, Henry Holland and of course Agyness Deyn. I’m often confused by all the hype surrounding Agy, sure, she has a pretty enough face but I’m just getting bored of seeing her everywhere. And her dress sense is haphazard, it’s nothing to rave about. Take her choice of outfit for the Paris-Londres party, I like bright accessories as much as the next girl, but this is overkill. The bag, gloves and socks are just too much, it looks like she’s trying to hard. I love the dress though.

Deyn continues her campaign for world domination

10 Jun

I hate the term ‘Model du Jour’, but I guess it’s the most fitting way to describe Agyness Deyn. Agy is continuing her campaign for world domination, she’s added Jean Paul Gaultier’s new perfume Ma Dame to her ever growing list of campaigns. She features in the much talked about tv and print advertisements for the new perfume, described by Gaultier as “more electic, dynamic and energetic”. In the tv advert, Agy struts to the front wearing a suit, tie and blonde wig. She chops of her hair and the legs of her trousers and also slashes the sleeves of her shirt. It finishes with her kissing Gaultier.
