Elite Model Look Final 2010

31 Jul

Last Thursday I attended the Elite Model Look Final 2010, how exciting! Their model competition has discovered many a household name including Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Gisele Bundchen. On the night, the 12 lucky UK finalists competed to be crowned the UK winner of Elite Model Look and go onto the international competition. The 12 finalists were all stunningly beautiful, as you can expect but very young. The youngest girls were 14 and the oldest was 17.

I have to say, the event was a little disjointed as there were lots of videos and then a bit of presenting and then catwalk shows, with a few musical and dance performances thrown in. The girls did so well though and I did like the modern dance performance. I bumped into Marian and Carina too which is a bonus. Here’s a video of the highlights:

Asos Autumn/Winter 2010 lookbook

30 Jul

I’ve been terribly focused on Autumn/Winter this week, I apologise! But with the chill in the air and nights starting to draw in, it does seem rather appropriate. Here are my favourite looks from the ASOS autumn/winter lookbook. There are a couple of mini trend stories here, toughening up pretty looks (which never gets old), capes (they bring me winter joy), faux fur as always and lots of mixing textures. All clothes available in September.

New season Opening Ceremony!

29 Jul

New Opening Ceremony!! These shoes just landed in my inbox and I just had to share. Some of the shoes are more transitional, but they all have a pretty wintery feel to them – but in a good way. I love Winter because it’s all about the textures and this little collection has got bundles of texture – wooly mohairs, soft furs, sumptuous suede and a nice smattering of embellishment. The mohair wedges and the faux-sock shoes are my absolute favourites.

All available now at Super Sweet Shop, except the faux-socks which drop in September.

Autumn/Winter 2010 campaigns

27 Jul

I know there’s only a slight nip in the air, but I’m kind of already looking forward to the Autumn/Winter collections! Most of the campaigns are out now, here’s what we have to look forward to…

Armani

Burberry

Carven

Chanel

Escada

Fendi

Jil Sander

Louis Vuitton

Max Mara

Stella Maccartney

Sadly, I was not liking the Marc Jacobs so much. I loved the witty campaigns with Juergen Teller but this just doesn’t do it for me.

Jasper Garvida sample sale

26 Jul

Hello lovelies! Uber quick post as I need to tidy, it’s been a week and my flat still looks like a squat! If you’re in London on Friday, you’re in for a treat. The adorable Jasper Garvida is having a sample sale from 12-6pm this Friday 30th July at The Fat Badger pub, 310 Portobello Road. His gorgeous gowns retail for at least £400 and prices at the sample sale start from just £20! Yes…the same price as a dress in New Look and a gorgeous piece of Jasper Garvida could be yours.

Carine Roitfeld’s apartment

22 Jul

This is a bit of a self-indulgent post (aren’t they all?!) as I love Carine and was a bit nosey, I knew her apartment would be amazing though. It’s grown up in a similar way to Anna Dello Russo but more polished like Carrie Bradshaw’s post movie makeover apartment. It just looks flawlessy stunning. It’s been used for a couple of Vogue editorials too.

Anna Dello Russo’s apartment

21 Jul

I had no idea a post on Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment would be so popular! I do love the shabby chic-ness of her pre-movie apartment so much. I think in some ways I like it because it’s not overly polished, it’s attainable. I do also like ‘grown up’ apartments, one of my favourites is Anna Dello Russo’s amazing apartment – it looks like a fashion museum! She actually has two, one to live in and one to store her immense clothing collection. These gorgeous images are from Jak & Jil. How stunning?!

PS – This is my first post on my new teeny, tiny, amazing Dell Inspiron Mini. Such a diddy little laptop but it does the job!
