Kirsty’re my inspiration

30 Jun
Ok so I bought these brown shoeboots forever ago and wore them to death with grey knee high socks, which were the only type of socks I could wear with them…black kinda clashed and my bright tights just seemed wrong. The Boy hated that combination, and particularly the shoes. No explanation, he just hated them, so they kinda joined the rest of the rejects at the back of my wardrobe. However, I stumbled upon a post on Kirsty Lee’s blog, that’s just my vibe, and she was wearing that exact combination…but with muchhh nicer shoes. It looked so awesome I decided to resurrect mine, et voila! I found that it can look a bit school girly, and it works well with rich colours and prints

Miss Trentini

30 Jun
As you can probably tell, I’ve been a little preoccupied with the Fall 08/9 campaigns lately. The usual suspects are all present – Lara Stone (Chloe, Givenchy, Jil Sander), Natasha Poly (Givenchy, Jil Sander, Blumarine), Lily Donaldson (D&G, Gucci Hysteria), Jessica Stam (D&G, D&G pre-Fall, Armani), Raquel Zimmerman (Lanvin, Fendi).

I was a little surprised to see Caroline Trentini replacing Gemma Ward in the Dolce & Gabbana Fall advert, I had seen her as the face of DKNY, and pretty as she is, I didn’t really pay much attention to her. This hot Brazilian has been doing her thing for a while now, Marc Jacobs himself cast her for an ad campaign way back in 2003 and she’s been opening for big names including Bottega Veneta, Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta.

This Fall, she will carry on her duties as the face of Oscar de la Renta and DKNY as well as these DSquared ads with Hilary Rhoda and Raquel Zimmerman. As if that’s not keeping Caroline busy enough, she’s also a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

A little Miu Miu for you

29 Jun
Yeah, I have nothing better to do on an Sunday than think about fashion inbetween litter training Bob Snufflekins. I know S/S looks are so over and everyone’s looking forward to Fall, but I decided to pay homage to one of my favourite looks of this season, Miu Miu’s double skirt look.

My take on it isn’t quite as dramatic, and is coupled with Prada’s Fall 07 footless socks. Can you tell that I love Miuccia?!

Dolce & Gabbana Fall 08

29 Jun
Ooooh new Dolce advert pics! Is it just me or have the adverts been getting better over the last couple of years? Dolce & Gabbana have almost followed the exact same formula as their SS 08 campaign, shot by Steven Klein and featuring Jessica Stam and Lily Donaldson. They have decided to replace Gemma Ward with Caroline Trentini.

The wedding seasons has begun

28 Jun

Ok so technically I’ve already been to two wedding this year, but this is the first one I’ve been to since I started the blog. I normally hate weddings unless someone I know well is getting married. That’s because my mum (who gets a million wedding invites and thinks its a great mother-daughter bonding experience) usually decides to pick out a horrible outfit for me, approximately 20 people will pretend to take an interest in my life then introduce their son who is just perrrrfect for me (they never are!) and they’re generally pretty boring and tiring. On the upside, on the rare occaison I win the outfit battle and wear what I want and like the person that’s getting married, they’re a great excuse to swish around in silk. Got another wedding next weekend so more pics then!

Eek…shoes on sale!

28 Jun
Ok so I’ve been *so* good at ignoring the sales which are pretty much tormenting me everywhere I go. Except that I’ve been virtual window shopping for shoes for the last hour. And I think I’m going to succumb to temptation. These Aldo shoes are just too gorgeous to resist, I’ve been obsessed with them since Rumi from Fashion Toast has been rocking them in the most fabulous outfits. Oh and they’re half price, £34 from £70, so technically I’m saving money right?! I’m sure taking that money from my car fund make that much difference anyway. Not as much as these shoes which somehow found their way into my shopping basket…

Burberry Fall 08

27 Jun
I’m sure you have all heard that Agy had been dropped by Burberry in favour of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. It’s not the first time a model has got dropped, but according to tabloids, the girls have a full on rivalry, as Agyness has been snubbing Rosie since Christopher Bailey made his decision. don’t feel too bad for her though, Shiseido has dropped Angelina Jolie in favour of Agy. Anyway, here are the latest pictures of the Burberry fall ’08 campaign, also starring Sam Riley.

World’s apart from the previous rock-inspired campaign, but I like them. Moody and melancholic.
